When the opportunity came to develop a home for Principal and Lead Designer Sam Holroyd and his family, the styling cues of a chauffeur’s cottage from a classic 1920’s Andalusian-style Montecito estate were used as the influence for the design. While maintaining the styling cues and timeless materials found in a significant historical estate, the scale, size and informality of design is far more agrarian. This enhances the relaxed California lifestyle so sought after today. Coupled with this aesthetic is a modern open plan layout which makes this such a livable home unlike the early California estates.
